I just had a phone call from my old neighbour that 3 metro cars rocked up at my previous residence looking for me to deliver a summons....

I checked on viewfines.net and I see a summons from 2011 that I know nothing about but this has the incorrect details for my bike.

I'm a bit worried that they might want to lock me up if I stroll into metro

I also don't want to ignore this and hope it goes away.

Anyone know someone that I can call up to see what's happening and try to resolve this?

Thanx

Uhm... Metro doesn't deliver summons. Only the sheriff does. Unless Metro rocked up to deliver an arrest warrant.

Best phone your metro police department and ask them what's going on.

Why would they want to arrest you for a SUMMONS? Its merely a document that tell you to be in court on a specific date.

I got Metro's number off the web and phoned them. They are unable to look for fines/warrants over the phone.

He suggested I find my closest metro office and go in person, he was unfortunately also unable to provide an address.

Any ideas other than going in?

Just go in - which Metro are you in?

How much is the fine for?

This has happened to me twice, the cops do rock up at your door with a summons/order to appear in court. You can still pay the fine though and all will be forgiven, so see if you can pay it on payfine, otherwise go to your local trafic department.

I had a fine that I had no idea about. It had turned into a warrant of arrest though. I had to phone the Sherrif to sort it out.

Mmmmm see I have a fine that says: Due date passed - Offender must go to court, on payCity.co.za

Which court? And where do I go to get this sorted out. I would not like to be stopped at a road block and be detained for this :o

It's usually the court closest to the place where you got the fine - bit of a bugger if it was in the middle of the Karroo!

Lol. I would like to pay it or get it done on a Saturday but I guess it is off the table :(

I would go to the local police station and tell them that you have been trying to pay the fine, but keep running into obstacles - they might just take your cash there and then - worth a chance.

I am in Sunning Hill but I managed to get through to a duty officer and while she was unwilling to give me any details she told me there is "something" against my name and told me to go to court asap.

The court she told me to go to is in Ntemi Piliso St. I'm still just worried that they want to arrest me once there. I also don't want to spend bucks on an attorney before I know what's going on.

Hahaha
it's a trick
run forrest run !

you clearly have a warrant for your arrest (contempt of court) - probably for ignoring a previous summons & not attending court

run faster forrest - run :D
