Hi everyone, this is my first post here, hope everyone is having a great day!

I've been having a weird problem for the past 2 years.
My modem will lose it's connection at seemingly random times, but I'm starting to think it's when I use alot of bandwidth, like playing online games.
I've tried buying a new modem, and even let Telkom replace my telephone line, but to no avail.
Here is a log I found on my modem just after it disconnected:

Does this mean anything to anyone? Please I really need help!

Get another ISP account and see if the same issue persists. If it does contact Telkom and ask them to check your line.

Thank you very much for your reply, I really appreciate it. I did let Telkom monitor my line for a week, and the report said 100%.
Another guy told me it could be that my power to my house is unstable, could that cause the modem to lose sync?

It isn't unlikely that an unstable power source could cause issues. If you run your modem off an UPS with AVR (automatic voltage regulation), then it may prevent that issue, depending on how good the AVR is.

I would suggest that you first try a WebAfrica Home ADSL trial account (free for 14 days): http://www.webafrica.co.za/home/adsl/trial/
If that still disconnects, then you can rule out that your problem is caused by the ISP (unless you're currently using a WebAfrica account of course).

The second thing to look for is faulty/missing ADSL/POTS filters.
If you can go without a telephone for a while, I would suggest that you remove all the filters and telephones, and plug in the ADSL modem directly into the Telkom line.
If the problems still persist, then you can rule out ADSL filters as a cause.

Please post your ADSL statistics and ADSL modem model + brand here. All your problems may be caused due to too low SNR margins (anything below 10dB could cause issues).

Thank you once again for the replies, I can't begin to describe how good it feels to actually be able to talk to people and not get a one word reply.
I did do the modem directly into the Telkom line, and I bought 2 different filters and used them both for a 2 week period, no difference.

Ok I used to use a TP-Link TD-W8151N, but that would disconnect everytime I log into my online games, but browsing was ok.
Then I bought the D-Link WiFi N ADSL2+ 4-Port Wi-Fi Router, that went horribly, it kept disconnecting every 2-3 minutes without me doing anything.
I then swapped it with my office's Telkom modem, this model Siemens Giga762SX, now the disconnections are much less, but still there.
This is the statistics for the Siemens GIga762SX:

Downstream rate: 4096 kbps
Upstream rate: 512 kbps
PPPoE pass-through: Enabled

ADSL Line
Status: Cable connected
Line mode: G.DMT
Maximum line rate: 8128 kbps (upstream)
Noise margin: 28.5 dB (upstream)
Line attenuation: 20.2 dB (upstream)
Output power: 9 dBm (upstream)

Usually the ADSL modems include 2 lights:
1) PPP/Internet - indication of PPPoE connection to the ISP
2) DSL/Modem - indication of ADSL connection to Telkom DSLAM/Exchange

If the DSL/Modem light goes out, then you most likely have an ADSL line issue.

If it is just the PPP/Internet light that goes out, then it is either an ISP issue, or Telkom issue further upstream from the DSLAM. Like I had an issue where my ISP connection would drop every 2 minutes 45 seconds, which ended up being a Telkom issue that other people all around Stellenbosch also experienced.

From the looks of things, you're having ADSL line issues. I would still recommend that you give that WebAfrica account a try too.

The Internet light goes out first, then the ADSL light goes out.
If it's a ADSL line issue, how do I go about fixing it?
Thank you very much for the help!

Seeing that the ADSL light also goes out, then its not an ISP issue.

Try plugging in the modem in directly into the Telkom line and remove all the filters and telephones completely. If it then still disconnects, then you should call Telkom to have it checked out.

It could be that your power feed to the ADSL modem is unstable, in which case I really have no idea what you should/could do about it.
