Help with ADSL please!

My ADSL (Telkom) has been put in and I selected the wireless router . We have two laptops. My old laptop works 100% and logs in instantly when we connect via wireless or LAN. My new computer however is a problem at the outset both on LAN and wireless. When I log in it takes about 15 minutes to warm up and then log in and then it works fabulously fast. Can you help please?

That symptom sounds like a network problem. Check to see if you have any mappings which are not available where you are now and delete them.

Not sure I understand what you mean by mappings.

Assuming your'e running Windows XP.

Right click on my computer and choose explore

Click on Tools and choose disconnect network drive.

If any drives are shown, click on the icon and click OK. Do this for all the drives shown.

Suggest you create a restore point first.
