Hi Folks

We have a small company with 6 employees that are all in different locations.
They currently have access to the interent with adsl and dialups through Mweb *spit*.
These folks are using the default mail addresses as per the isp.
Now, the company has registered a domain name, but on an international server. MWeb was contacted to move the domain to their servers as the company wants to setup there own email alias's using their domain name.

Strangely, MWeb *spit* want to charge a fee of almost R30pm per email address that uses this domain name for alias. Is that right, a once of setup fee surely should be sufficient?

Secondly, the accountant needs to backup data on a daily basis, and this needs to be done via the net to a remote location/server in case of fire or something like that.
The accountant is connected via an adsl line and the amount of data to backup daily will be Pastel type data no more than 50 megs.
These folks are not exactly pc savvy, so the backup service should be as painless as possible.
Idealy automated on a schedule or something.
Can anyone recommend a good service, possibly around 100megs of space.
Many thx

For the e-mail aliasses:

Don't give a cent more to MWebSucks.

The simple solution is to go ahead and create the e-mail boxes on the new domain. Configure all the remote ADSL employees to use this new e-mail address, with reply-to address set to the new one.

Then simply connect to the MwebSucks mail profile for each user and configure mail forwarding for each account. So then all the mail arriving on the old <user>@mweb.co.za will automatically be forwarded to <user>@newdomain.co.za.

According to me the best hosting provider for the new website and mail server is www.webafrica.co.za. Go for the R137 International USA Standard Business shared web hosting. This gives you 5GB traffic and 20 email boxes. MWebSucks will charge you about double for half the features.

Thx Franna

What I am asking for is that this be done for the company, we dont want to fiddle, thats why we pay pay for the service.
In the short term we will pay MWeb *spit* so that we can get the domain running and migrate the people across to the new domain name.
Once we have done this, we will dump them and move all our accounts to another isp that charges NORMAL rates, and take the domain with us.

Anyone know of good local backup services? We would prefer if the company that offers the backup service, could also be the isp that we move to.
Phoned WebAfrica and they dont offer backup services. :(
