Help with cancelling ADSL

So I currently stay with family friends and have a working phoneline, I want to get ADSL but since I am not going to be staying beyond the end of this year I want to know how does one cancel their ADSL line rental but keep the voice line rental? Furthermore I am thinking of getting an MWEB account with line rental, if I cancel with mweb at the end of the year will they deactivate the ADSL portion on the line while leaving the voice section? I have contacted Mweb but the sales person wasn't helpful (my PM to the mweb rep on MyBB is unanswered) as my question seemed to fall outside the scope of the sales script they were reading. My concern is that if I cancel the ADSL, somehow the voice line gets cancelled and disconnected as well and the people i'm staying with are not exceptionally educated and are old, I prefer not to create a headache in the near future.
 
The phone line needs to be post-paid (not pre-paid) and the account in your name before MWeb can help you otherwise the friends must apply for the ADSL stuff in their name.

Our phone line is my wife name, however the mweb account is my name. I had to get my wife to fill in a document authorising the use of the line.

If I understand your post, you want to cancel their ADSL and keep the voice line only till the end of the year and then apply for your own ADSL account, when you at your own premises?

Any account changes can only be done by the account holder. If their ADSL line is with Telkom, then they will need to call Telkom and cancel it and say that they would still like to keep the voice line.

Alternatively, seeing that you are going to be staying there until the end of the year, why not just leave the ADSL active until then. When you move into your own place, you'll need to apply for a Telkom voice line and once that has been installed you can give MWEB a call or drop me a message.

With regards to the rep you PM'd, who was that? Can't be me :-)
