You select gateway mode when installing to install it as gateway mode. Installing all the apps will not get you charged, theyre all free.
Remember, in gateway mode one network card needs to be attached to your switch and lan, and the other needs to be attached to your modem/router.
Once installed, just start the web proxy and content filter and make sure DHCP is enabled. You might want to register the system (its free) for the free dynamic dns.
Is your router going to handle the pppoe connection or is the server? If the server is going to handle it, dont forget to turn your modem into bridge mode. If the router is going to handle it, you might want to forward ports 81 and 22 from your router onto your server.
If you are going to configure clear via the web lan interface you are going to want to go to the incoming rules section under Network and make sure that "Webconfig" or port 81 is open.
