Help with connecting Nokia to laptop

Not sure if this is the correct forum. I have been able to successfully connect my Nokia E70 to my laptop using Nokia PC Suite 6.84.10.3 till a short while ago. Running Vista Home

All of a sudden if I connect the phone to my laptop via cable I am unable to get a connection. Remove Nokia N70 from Device Manager, Re installed the software but still the same.

Plugged phone cable into usb port, drivers installed, Device manager show Portable Devices\ Nokia N70 device is working properly.

But when opening PC Suite it show no phones conected. Selecting Get Connected opens wizzard, click next and error message "There is no available connection type and therefore connection to phone cannot be established. The wizzard will exit"

Please can someone help with this problem. Tried everthing to no avail. Tried another Nokia data cable with same result

Not sure if this will help, but try using the Nokia Ovi Suite instead. It is a bit cluttered and big compared to PC suite, but it is a lot newer than the version of PCSuite you were using.

I had an issue with my old Nokia N80 where it wouldn't pick up on a computer anymore, no matter what I did. Seems the older Nokia phones can be tempremental at times.

Have you tried another Nokia phone yet ? with the same software and cable.

I have had the same problem from time to time.

Another thing would be to try right click and change the exe file on your desktop.

And change the nokia .exe to run as XP SPK 2 or 3 and tick the run as administrator.

Has got nero to work on vista when it wouldn't work.

Tried bluetooth instead of USB cable?
