Maybe so, but a legit question was asked within the last week. Complaints were raised on the Necro discussion thread that new threads get raised for the same question - Speedz here was simply carrying on the same topic.

its supposed to serve as a loading screen image. I've explained to my friend that this image might just slow the website download times but they really want to add it in so...
I'd appreciate anyone's input on this


So i've reduced the image size to 600x520 and now the gif is 579kb

Have you tried using one of the standard animation images used for AJAX? Google for AJAX Animation images - there are actually sites full of them, and they will be tons smaller than your custom image.

The image i used was the company's logo dropping in from the sky but i will put your idea foward.
