plz help i really need internet asap and can not wait for an rma to happen

I'm not exactly sure what the cause is here, but I'd guess that a reset might help...

Perform a reset to factory defaults, like explained here: http://www.modem-help.co.uk/D-Link/DSL-2500U-BRU-C-ADSL2--Modem-Router.html?info=1

You should then also configure your IP address such that it is on the same subnet as 192.168.1.x, eg. IP address = 192.168.1.2, subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
If you can't access the router's web interface on 192.168.1.1 then, then you should get it RMA'd.

I have the 4 port version of that router, the 2540U, and according to the manual, if the Power light (far left) goes red, then there is a 'Failure or Device Malfunction'. You can try reset it like Pada says, but your router may have bought it.

These routers cost R200 new, I'd rather just buy a new one. Less hassle IMHO.

Are any leds on at all?

Remember it's probably locked to one Dslam in the exchange. Ring Mweb and tell them you moved
