Help with deciding 65" tv Hisense or JVC

Hi guys

I am in the market for a 65" TV, so i have been lookign around for the best deals.

Game has a cyber monday special today on a 65" JVC UHD for R9999. Model number LT-65N675
Makro has a Hisense 65" UHD for R16999. Model number 65K5500UW

I know the specs on the Hisense is better than the JVC, but is it worth the extra 7k? What are your thoughts? I currently have a 50" LG Plasma.

Do not buy JVC ever. It is not the original JVC products sold in the Asian market. It's a rebranded unknown brand distributed by NuWorld South Africa. You will struggle to get parts (if they do not just stop making the parts altogether), especially the remote control should something go wrong.

Hisense have excellent local backup support.
 
Absolutely Hisense. I have had the 55 and now the 65. Fantastic TV. See if you can get cheaper at Esquire.

Wait till your remote stops working. I was given all kinds of excuses that the remote is not covered under warranty (even though the remote wasn't really the problem, the tv wouldn't read it). Hifi corp in conjunction with NuWorld wouldn't fix anything because their specialists determined the remote was faulty (needs to be reprogrammed or some crap). I even phoned NuWorld personally to buy a new remote m, was told they no longer make that TV therefore no remotes (this was 2 years after I bought the TV).

That sucks. But to be fair, that was 2 years ago. Thus most likely a previous range.

On my TV you can control the set with your phone over wifi, and I'm sure this 65" will be able to do that as well.

Also, this TV is at Game. They are far more lenient on refunds and they tend to honour warranties.

Maybe sure, I just wouldn't wanna deal with that brand again regardless.
 
Nuworld are the worst when it comes to customer backup. I had a Telefunken deck and DVD player both pack up in a year. Repair parts were always unattainable and I had to bin the goods.

I actually did the refund, went straight to Esquire, and got the 65" Hisense. Yeah, it was more than double the price, but you truly get what you pay for. The quality of the Hisense is amazing. It upscales content to 4k. Everything is super clear and smooth. No December holiday for me though.
 
Sorry for the dumb question guys but in order to purchase from Esquire, do you need to send them all that info they need to get an account number thus been able to register? like company registration, Vat registration etc.? Do they not sell directly to the public?
 
I think spending R15k on a HiSense is just wrong.

Why do you have to go so big?

You can get an amazing Samsung, LG or even Sinotec ( 5 year guarantee) at that price.

Why Sinotec? Hisense you get a pretty decent TV, great size and it has a four year warranty.

Isnt Sinotec cheaper?


Also there was a thread recently where a guy had nightmares with HS.

I stand to be corrected but I think you can get Sinotec 65" factory demos for about R8000.

Guarantee will obviously be less.
