Cheaper for a reason, I think he had issues with the JVC he bought, took it back for a Hisense

Hi there. I am in the market to buy a JVC 65" now and noticed your info above.

How do you know about the rebranded product being sold as JVC? I have had the 43" JVC smart TV for three years now, and not a single problem. In fact, I have been super impressed with the quality of the picture, and the overall experience. I don't even use the remote, as the DSTV remote is programmed to control the TV.

I am curious as to why big stores like Makro and Game would have a phony product on their shelves?

I had a remote fail 2 years after buying a JVC tv. They simply informed me that they cannot supply me with a new remote as that particular TV model was no longer being manufactured. All this tells me is that as soon as the TV is no longer made, it would be extremely difficult to find parts if at all.

I tried getting one of those universal remotes, and even that would not work. Rather stick with Samsung, LG, or Hisense.

Perhaps the newer models are better, I really wouldn't know. I bought the JVC more than 5 years ago.

Ah, okay. Five years is an eternity in the electronics game. I actually spoke to Theo from Nu-World, who was not the PR person for the company, but agreed to chat nevertheless. He assured me that they are obliged to carry spares for five years, and they do it sometimes longer.

What he also said, which makes sense, is that they sell many thousands of tv sets, and there is bound to be a few comebacks, which is a reasonable statement. And although he doesn't usually deal with the public, he was completely unaware of the negative press that NuWorld has seen here, and on many other platforms like HelloPeter. That was an eye opener, and he said he would look into that.

My perspective is that although JVC is maybe made by someone else, they still offer good value for money. I don't have the problem of playback of USB files looking poorly, as I use a dedicated media player, which always helps a lot.
 
Unless you have a bakkie to drive your broken JVC to Game or Makro every Saturday, do not buy that schit!
 
HISENSE!!!!!!!!! buddies JVC just bombed out recently.. only thing I would say if you go JVC route upgrade the heck outta the warranty for maybe 5 years.

that's what he did and game gave him a credit now he bought a 50 inch Hisense. so hay.. the irony ... go hisense
