Help with Denon A/V 2308

i have the denon a/v 2308 on AR3000 speakers (5.1). however what the darn salesman neglected to inform me was that i'd need a phd in micro-electronics to be able to operate the darn thing!

now my problem is this: i am unable to get tweeter out of the system when i play music. the manual shows you can change the tone/treble (?), but doesn't tell you how. has anyone been able to use a denon 23-range for music with good tweeter.

the system is gr8 for movies, but music all base sometimes not so good (plus the a/v is to big for my speakers). btw, i use the autosetup mic for the initial config (bcos that's very gud for watchin movies).

I assume that you mean treble, not tweeter.

Treble refers to high frequency sounds, and a tweeter is the small speaker that produces this high frequency sound.

I also have the 2308 and don't have this problem, I also followed the auto setup and it sounds great, music and movies.

There is an equaliser you can play with but I suspect that your subwoofer level is too high. If your subwoofer has a volume control, turn it down a bit and see if it helps.

Can you give some more details on the speakers, google can't find them.

I am assuming it is AR, as in Acoustic Research. But I can't find that model number.

If your speakers are bi-wirable (i.e. has two sets of binding posts) you might have taken out the connector between the two sets. If you have no treble at all, this might be the problem.

yes i meant treble - i did autosetup, but then when i play music i use the direct option with only the fronts + sub connected, will check sub level. what i have done also is i turned the speaker levels to +4dB a while ago (this was set to 0dB by the autosetup).

i had turned it up misguidedly thinking that's why i didn't get good sound (but the problem was the night mode being on at all times).

yes the speakers are bi-wirable but i do have that bridge piece in place . i will also upload a pic of one front (it's a bit grainy, but shud c the speakers).

the sound is good but i would like the bass with just a tad more high frequencies when i'm playing music.
