Don't give up so easily...yet!!!
First do a cold re-boot (down the power and wait a minute)...... and then try again.

OK... give me more details:
What Signal strength are you getting?
Cut and past your login detail here(use Mysignal)

OK.
I would suggest that you try installing the firmware once again.
(Just in case!!!) Then if that does not work. Post back here.
With 2 LED's you should have enough signal to access the tower.

Either you have a tower authentication problem... post your tower name.
Or... there could indeed be a modem problem.... but I presume that your
modem WAS working on the old firmware.

i just phoned him know to ask exactly wats going on, he said it connects and says he is connected, but when he trys to view a webpage or something like that it dosent work, but on the modem he can see it sending stuff but he dosent recieve any thing back

you can try the v5 netvigator firmware.. there is a link somewhere on the forums. If you have the same results, then its probably not the firmware.

Alst just for interest try and use the signal tester.. sometimes it gets the modem kicking.. I have to every time I reset the modem run the mysignal program for the lights to fire up and search for a tower.

And also, try Proasm's modem reset function, otherwise the little reset in the back of the modem, where the simcard slot is

I have noticed with the upgrade that the modem does not search for a signal automatically...only when you run the dialer or MySignal, will it actually start searching.

The other option may be that the modem is not connected properly to the PC, may explain why MySignal doesn't work!!! If it is connected (Check in Device Manager), re-install the Sentech software. If that doesn't work, go to a friends house with a PC, re-install from scratch (pref a friend who lives near a tower).

Good luck.

If he can connect, but not reach any web sites, he is probably connected using new_user. That allows you to connect only to the internal sentech network. Its easy to check - his ip address should be 10.x.x.x in stead of 66.x.x.x
