Help with DSL filter please?

Ok so am I right in saying the Telkom F100 ADSL filter is just for for voice?
It does nothing for the ADSL right?

Yes it is just for voice, fax, modem, alarm or any other voiceband telephone instrument setc.

It does nothing for ADSL unless it is broken in which case it will negatively affect your ADSL.

Ah ok thanks man, I just connected a phone for the 1st time and my line went for a ball of crap without the filter - I just put it in and got Telkom to do a port reset and it seems better.
