So I have a 20" widescreen and a 17" 4:3 lying around and I thought in one of my more lucid moments why not hook them up for dual-monitor fun? Did that and then decided I could never go back to single monitor tedium.

However I'm wondering a few things: If I want to watch a movie, it won't normally seem to stretch it fullscreen across both monitors. Either it gives huge black borders on either side or it goes fullscreen to the primary display. How can I align a movie so that it will stretch in gloriosity at maximum displayness? Also with games. I managed to make a 1080 copy of one movie stretch all the way so I know it is possible but nothing else seems to work.

Thanks!!

XP doesnt handle rendering both screens at once very well, get vista :)

As there isn't an official for sale release i cant imagine aftermarket driver supporting any nice features...but good try

Now go ahead and load vista

Let me wing it for you in a practical way,you want a demo version of an OS to do things that only its predecessor could do with aftermarket drivers that will _maybe_ work on win 7...be practical in your thought process ;)

Well the RTM version of win7 isn't a demo. But ok let's say I installed Vista64 on a partition - could I expect it to handle dual monitors with nary a hiccup?

If there are WDM certified win7 drivers for your display card you could expect win7 to handle it,builtin drivers arent meant for anything more complex than testing and office applications - which seem to be "working as intended"

RTM doesn't mean **** except they're ready to polish and finalize before selling,it's a demo with most features enabled

so if you buy the new OS immediately chances are some of your PC’s hardware and your favorite software are not yet supported. The better way, if you want Seven like falling in love with your high school or college crush is to wait for him to mature a little, that way you two can get together well. So, be patient and wait.

Hm i really don't want to revert back to Vista. I've become enamoured with win7 by now.

You know it might well be a driver issue related to the fact that I can't make the CCC install properly. Ever since 9.9 came out it has given install errors and I cant find it on the system.
