Hi Guys,
Recently I've noticed that I have been getting some serious lag issues to an international server I play on and just want to get peoples opinions on how i should proceed... if it is indeed a problem.
What I have done already is used 3 different isp accounts all with very similar results. The latency is good for about 5 minutes ( mostly less ) then goes for a ball of **** which results in me being kicked from the server.
The high latency starts on my very first hop, making me think its either the line or congestion at the exchange. See pic attached showing a traceroute not even 10s apart with massive difference in latency.
SNR: 16dB Down / 13dB Up
Attenuation: 49.5dB Down / 23.5dB Up.
I'm not sure which exchange i connect to but there is one not 1km away from me, and reading around one usually sees an attenuation like that when roughly 3km away ( so maybe I'm not connected to it )
Would resetting the port at the exchange help or should I get a telkom techie in.
Thanks,
