Help with FNB virtual credit card

Hey guys,

My physical card got skimmed and had to cancel.

I am going to use a virtual card for a few things now.

Do you guys know if the virtual card works for the following:

  • Samsung pay (on a phone for tap and pay)
  • Netflix recurring
  • Afrihost recurring
  • Uber / Uber eats
  • Snapscan
  • Zapper
  • Walletdoc ( paying utility bills )
These are items I use frequently where a physical card is not needed, but not sure of the use case works on all on these because of the changing cvc number.

Any help appreciated, especially if you using the virtual cards with these services.

Not sure.. I know most international works. last I checked Zapper still failed. I think the only local one I found working was PnP bottles.

That being said, in non-subscription services ie buying things like takealot, zapper, etc it is still safer to add a virtual card and accept the inconvenience of checking the dynamic cvv each time until they adopt the ecom standard at their acquirer(card proc they use) as the industry is slowly adding it.
 
Yes. Works for everything. I’ve never had any issues and have used my virtual card where I had initially used the details of my physical card.
 
An update to this thread - Afrihost does not work with a virtual credit card.

For netflix etc, places where you store your card, the VCC is fine

for any till transactions, ask for the QR code (Masterpass) and then use the scan to pay.
You cant tap to pay with a VCC

VCPay has closed down - i had an issue with a payment, and when i called them, they told me they closing up. I had some fund, and they refunded me.

I notice their website etc still active
