Yo Wassup Guys,

I have a Golf 5 GTI and yesterday it started doing something really weird, it starts and idles everything fine but when I start to drive it feels like it has no power at all and is making like a weird hissing sound like air is blowing out from somewhere on the passengar side.

The closest VW to me can only book the car in next week and I just wanted to get an idea of whats wrong. You guys have any ideas what can be wrong.

Thanks

Sounds like a boost pipe has come loose or got a crack in it.

Check your piping that comes out your airbox into your turbo, or the piping from the turbo to the intercooler, or the piping from the intercooler to your engine intake.

Sounds like the pipe from turbo/intercooler is loose or broken going to intake manifold. Or I hope for your part so.
Can be cracked head as well (Worst case). Any water in oil or vice versa?

Nope no leaking oil or water...

Ok cool will check it out, thanks man

Replace all the boost pipes with silicone hosing, it's cheap and lasts longer

Hey guys just wanted to say thanks for all the advice. I finally took the car in and it was actually my intercooler that was damaged. They managed to replace it and all is working again, so now I don’t sound like a deflating balloon anymore.
