Haaaai, need some help with this here computer, problem is, it won't power on (yes the power cable is plugged in and everything switched on), I see the lights flicker on then off, but won't power on.

The two ATX cables are plugged in properly aswell, we also tryed taking out other parts, ram, GFX card, (don't know if that would help?) still nothing, any ideas what the problem might be?

All the parts I have are shown in this thread http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=138508

pwease haaahhhllppp! :(

Sounds like busted power supply. Switch it with another to see if the machine is fine. If it still does this then the mobo or cpu might be bust. I am counting on PSU. Did you install new hardware? Maybe PSU is overloaded?

Hmmm. Some bios issues can make a machine do jump and stop starts. I am still counting on the PSU but Corsair is very good quality and 650W is more than enough for the specs you got.

The PSU is probably busted then. I'll rather just get the whole computer assembled and checked properly tomorrow at the computer store nearby.

Thanks for the help ant.

Take it to the guys who supplied the parts. They should be friendly in sorting it out. :)

Oh, one more thing, check that those tiny bastards of cables for the reset, power led, hdd led and so forth are inserted correctly. :)

You can test the power supply by jumping a green and black wire on the ATX plug and test with a multi-meter...

Ok uhm I took it in and well.... lets just say it.... wasn't... "properly" put together.

Brother was really excited (and drunk) didn't do too good of a job and.... well.... didn't work out to well the way he assembled everything.

To cut the long story short, everything is fine, nothing is broken, I installed XP, raped Crysis, or rather.. Crysis raped the computer lol.

But thanks for the replies anyways guys, always appreciate it.

Every game runs silky smooth, I almost cream my pants.
