I have this HP Scanjet 5300c, but for some reason it doesn't work, it doesn't switch on at all. I suspect it may be the power cable, now I need to know if there is a place I could buy it from like a replacement or a generic one that will work?

Product Specifications for the HP Scanjet 5300c Series

Any help will appreciated :)

Stick a multimeter on the end plug and see what you get.

Take a chance - Incredible Connection store may have a box with loose/spare/forgotten power supplies.

What would I set it to if I wanted to test it and how do I connect it to the end?

I will try Incredible Corruption after I get the email from the other people.

3clicks anti-clockwise. VDC 20.

Push the red lead's pin inside the tip that's meant to go inside the printer and touch the black leads pin against the outside of the tip that goes into the printer.

The multimeter should read close to 24V.

Hmm 3 Clicks?? I would only take it two clicks...to the 200 VDC

Thanks guys :)

Update: The power cable reads nothing on the multimeter, so it seems that is the problem after all, thank you to everyone who has helped me thus far in this thread. I am waiting on letmerepair.com to get back to me.
