First of all - apologies for not being an Apple fundi.
My Android cellphone gave up the ghost a few days ago. My sister offered me her still very good Iphone 5 as replacement.
I immediately ran into the problem of Apple demanding logins and passwords. We tried to supply as best we could but just ended up in an endless loop.
I am fairly certain that he problem is that my sister kept her logins and passwords the same when she upgraded and Apple now thinks she wants to change the information on her new phone.
I attempted to do a factory reset thinking I would clear the phone of all passwords etc. but you have guessed it: Apple wants logins and passwords to do the reset.
I have tried to change the password but it wants logins and passwords before it will do that....

Can someone please try and explain to me what to do or maybe give me a link to a site that explains blow by blow what I need to do?
Thanks in advance

If I can remember correctly, to do a factory reset on the phone, you have to disable Find My iPhone first which requires you to log into iCloud with your Apple ID password.

Then when you do the reset itself, it will ask you to enter the phone PIN twice.

That should be it.

Edit: assuming Find My iPhone is activated in the first place. If not it’ll just be straight to factory reset and entering the phones PIN.
