Help With KODI addon

Hey guys

I use YouTube addon alot and recently received the message "YouTube now requires API" so they've changed something.

Anyways, I went to Google console and Created an API key which also gave a client ID and secret key.

I added those in the YouTube kodi addon and it says "API key is incorrect" yet it is correct.

Is there any way to still use the kodi addon without api key or any other work around this issue.

I uninstalled and used this guide https://koditips.com/setup-use-youtube-kodi-addon/ but still had issues but I see they have had an update since( I was busy in Feb with it.)

Exactly, so I guess we won't be able to use YouTube with kodi any more which sucks considering it was really good.

No I got it working eventually, just tried so many things that I would not want to confuse you.

I agree. I like watching my youtube on kodi! no ads and easy skipping.

Edit: I see my reply was a bit clumsy, I just battled a bit, not sure if it was the instructions, something new from Google (that the tutorial did not cover) or if it was just me. But it is working 100% now.

Just follow the instructions given in kodi. It is a fairly lengthy process but works. I did it just this morning
