Help with my PS3 console

So today for the first time in like a year or so, I decided to power up my PS3 and play some games on it. I noticed that 5-10 minutes into a game or while it is installing from the disc, the fan starts spinning at full speed and it gets loud. My question is what could cause this because I have the console upright with the vents getting enough air.

Should I open it up and clean it? I've never actually done it since I bought it brand new.

The console being upright is possibly causing it? Might be dusty yes as well.

Okay, that sounds simple enough. I'll just look at some tutorials online.

Dust, old heatsink paste... probably needs to be disassembled and cleaned and new heatsink paste applied.

I'll do that. I hope it is as easy as putting thermal paste on a pc.

I would guess it might, though looks like it could be tricky - probably more like working on a finicky laptop.

Good tutorial. But mine is a super slim and I've seen a few tutorials and it's easier compared to this one.

Where can I get my PS3 cleaned.

Hi My PS3 console is starting to show its age. The fan is too loud, it has some dust and games like Far Cry 4 don't run anymore. I'm not ready to let go yet because I still have a lot of backlog when it comes to PS3 games. Does anyone know where I can get it properly cleaned?
