I want to upgrade my RAM, preferably from Take2

According to my invoice, I have the following RAM installed on my 4.5 year old PC:

VIK - 10101 256MB - DDR32x64PC320088VI (DDR400) x 2
plus
another 512MB chip.

Speedfan says:
Decoding DIMM #0
Memory type is DDR
Module Rows : 1
Levels : 2.5V
Parity : NO PARITY
Refresh Rate : 7.8us
Total Size : 256MB
Decoding DIMM #1
Memory type is DDR
Module Rows : 1
Levels : 2.5V
Parity : NO PARITY
Refresh Rate : 7.8us
Total Size : 512MB
Decoding DIMM #2
Memory type is DDR
Module Rows : 1
Levels : 2.5V
Parity : NO PARITY
Refresh Rate : 7.8us
Total Size : 256MB

I have one slot left, but dont know what kind of RAM I need to buy to be compatible with what I have.

Any help appreciated.

Would be better if you told us your motherboard brand & model.

Anyways, it looks like Non-ECC DDR400/PC3200 DIMM RAM

That is going to be pricey to buy compared to DDR2.

It seems you need a DDR400 module. They are way more expensive than DDR2 or DDR3 ram.
It also seems that you have a 512MB and 2 x 256MB ram modules. It is normally not recommended to have the different modules in the slots.

Try using the scanner on crucial.com to tell you what is suggested and compatible. There is a small download but not one of my three anti viruses used have ever had a problem with it.

Thanks all

Take2 has this:

Transcend® High-Performance 1GB DDR400 184-Pin Module : CL3, 6-Layer PC Board, Life-Time Warranty

I think this is my MB:
D865GLCL m/ATX 800FSB AGP8x LAN AUD SATA

I bought the system from Lightedge begining 2005

I'll try crucial.com now as well.
