Need some advice.
Setting up a home small office network.

1) I need a server, could be running Win 7 not necessary for server as mail is hosted elsewhere.
It must be a solid machine, dont really need great graphics, will just be a file server, media server etc however must be very stable and solid. Will also run accounting software etc.

2) Need a desktop machine that I want to run a 2600k processor so I just need advice on a motherboard and I also need to run a SSD, vertex 3 ssd so must be Sata 3 compatible.

Need some help
Thanks

Can you give us more information regarding your layout of your SOHO?

Why do you need to run applications (like accounting software) on the server? Who else (apart from the mentioned desktop) is going to connect and use the server? For what purposes?

Also, you're considering some high-end components for that desktop. What is that machine going to be doing most of the time?

Giving us this information will help us to help you better. :)

Just one desktop, one printer, 4 laptops via wireless.
4Mb ADSL uncapped.

We do not want anything stored locally, everything must run off server.
Server will host media as well, like movies etc.

Desktop must just be fast, money is not really an issue - they just want speed and stability on both server and desktop.
