help with new telkom modem

so i'm helping my neighbor to install his adsl. But his modems is so 6 meters away from his computer so yesterday i installed a wireless network card. Now, after 2 hours of gesukkel, i could not get it to work. Does anyone know what to do ? the computer sees the modem, excellent connection strength, but thats it. what must i do ??

Not sure what you're asking here. Have you logged on to the modem and set it up?

If it's a new ADSL connection make sure that Telkom have enabled it

Where exactly is the problem? With the wireless link? Does it work if you use a cable connection?

its working now, i dont know why, i dont know how, but after a million times of setting it up, putting in the password, it works, thanks guys

He's talking about the computer talking wirelessly to the router not the actual internet connection.
