Hey guys

I need some help with pfsense.
My setup as follows:
router--->switch1--->switch2--->pfsense box

All my pcs connect via ethernet. Just phones and a laptop over wifi

Ive done this setup because the ports on my router are not gbit

Im running pfsense with 1 nic in vmware. ive created both adaptors to be bridged.

My router is on 192.168.0.1
Pfsense 192.168.0.2
Ap 192.168.0.3

I had a problem with getting the wan to work but played around and then it dialed out.

Now here is my problem pfsense box can ping to the net but no other pc in the house has an Internet connection.
The dhcp server (pfsense) is leasing ips so all my pcs are discoverable.

Then some how my pc in my room established an internet connection and im connected to switch1 that connects to the router.

Also another problem I find is when I switch say from afrihost to vox it connects on the pfsense box but it doesn't give my pc an Internet connection until I reboot pfsense then again my pc connects but nothing else does.

Lastly I have an ap that connects to switch2 by the pfsense box and I can't seem to make my dgn 1000 thats on switch1 go into ap mode(I dont think it has ap mode) how would I set this up in pfsense or make it bypass pfsense.

I think ive mentioned everything.

I feel as if its 98% there im just a noob at pfsense and can't get it to work properly.

Since you posted this yesterday and nobody has responded as yet to this, I presume it's because nobody knows or understand what you are trying to achieve here.

Why do you have 2 routers? The physical router and then pfsense in vmware. There could be routing issues, because you have 2 gateways running.

Also, pfsense, does it at least have 2 vm nics to the 1 physical?

I think firstly, just give us an understanding what you are trying to achieve here.

This.

Give pfSense two physical NICs and it'll be happy.

Thanks for the response guy's.

The router I change to modem only mode It doesn't support bridging but it does support modem mode.

What im going to try do is install pfsense with 2 nics on its own machine (no vmware) then instead of having it as the setup I said above im going to try modem into wan and then lan into switch1 this should work better hopefully.
