So i got a pool In really bad condition. Managed to clear it up and the numbers look balanced. However, i have this dusty sediment that wont go away. I have shocked, flocc’d, algaecide, vacuumed to waste many times and won’t even talk about my water bill. It won’t go away. Refer to picture. Any ideas?

You likely have a busted sand filter which is depositing the sand from the filter into your pool..

Get the sand out of the filter and check the plastic fingers that's supposed to keep the sand out of the pool..

I would try HTH® SPARKLE-IT CUBE.
Looks like you've already putting in some form of flock with that sediment.
Just not getting caught by the filter, the cube will help.

If you do need to do a sand change, if it is an old fibreglass one, get the proper wrench or you will 100% break the lid.
Remember to put screws back into holes before changing sand, be careful with your fingers at the bottom.
Sand change is an easy job, don't be intimidated.

I have done it a few times myself, I’ve also used Infinity Pool Specialists, they are cheap and really good.

I once zip-tied a cloth bag to the pool inlet to figure out where the sand in my pool was coming from, caught sand but it was not sand from the pool filter.
Apparently, there was a leak one foot away from the inlet pipe, which was somehow pulling in sand from the surrounding area.

this is confusing...

1) are you saying that is a mark on the pool floor that won't go away?
2) that dirt is just there all day long, but can be brushed away?
3) that dirt clears up with a Kreepy and then comes back the next day?

🤷‍♂️

1. It is fine dirt that if you brush it becomes like dust and floats in the water.
2. You can brush it around the bottom
of the pool
3. The kreepy can suck it in but you immediately see it return back through the jets

Yeah you need to make it sticky, could use more flocculant or one of those blue blocks.
The floc makes it clump up and sink to the bottom, the blue block makes it congeal and stay in the filter, so you'd have to backwash a lot.

If its coming back then I'd have a backwash for 30 seconds, then a rinse for 30 seconds. Then let the Kreepy run for 6 hours, then backwash and rinse again. You sand filter could just be a bit clumped up, after a good clean of the 2 baskets and a backwash + rinse it will stir up the sand and loosen it. You need to do it a few times, you will hear the sand slush around like mad and pulse.
