Hi

This is a bit off-topic for the forum, but I need some help.

I am a Vodacom Subscriber and are currently in New Zealand, roaming on the VodafoneNZ network. Somebody from South Africa phoned me and, as I was asleep at the time, the phone went to voicemail.

How do I access my Voicemail from New Zealand?

I have tried 121 and also +2782121. At first I was told the service is not available, now I get the greeting message and then get disconnected. I also have tried to search on the Vodacom website, but the site seems to be down.

Is Vodacom having a problem? If not, how do I access my voicemail?

My roaming is working as I am receiving SMS and Calls.

- Retrieving Voicemail while roaming is not free!

- To listen to Voicemail, dial +278214 followed by the last 9 digits of your cellphone number. Example: If your cellphone number is 0827654321 you would dial +2782 14 827654321

- Dial 1 as soon as you hear your voicemail message

- Enter your mailbox number, e.g.: +2782 14 827654321

- Press 1

- Enter your mailbox password

Remember: Voicemail retrieval while roaming is charged as a call back to South Africa each time at the applicable roaming rate. Remember to reset your mailbox password before leaving, to be able to retrieve your messages when travelling.

Is there a default pin?

My dad is in the US and the network there is not letting him dial +278214. So I am trying from SA so I can relay the messages back to him.

He says he never setup a pin, but the system is asking me for one.

Thoughts?
