Hi everyone
So I did e-filing for the first time, and SARS needed to verify my banking details - which failed even though I did supply all the documents they requested.
I then e-mailed them to ask what I must do regarding this. The next day I got a notification that my assessment was complete. A week later I got an e-mail reply to my e-mail which stated the following:
So I don't know whether the issue was fixed since my assessment was completed? Would they complete an assessment even though my banking details weren't validated yet?
I went to SARS offices, got into a queue and when I got to the front they told me I need to make an appointment (meaning I would have to take leave from work again).
I'm still waiting for my refund to be processed - how long can this possibly take or do you think that they would still be waiting for verified banking details in this case?
Any advice/past experiences would be appreciated!

The South African Revenue Services (SARS) acknowledges receipt of your query however we are unable to assist you
via fax and email.
You are kindly requested to contact the SARS Contact Centre on 0800 00 7277, log onto eFiling or visit SARS website
www.sars.gov.za
