ok this is my new setup at home ( see image below)

The problem is I ask a buddy to get me a quad lnb(4ports) @ electricity, but they went and gave him a satscr lnb.while this would work on my hd pvr fine, i have 3 decoders in total>now my question is can i split the satscr lnb in anyway(see below)
Or should i just wait and get a multiswitch with a twin lnb or a quad lnb

any help would be nice thank u:D

From what I understand you can split SatCR if every device only uses SatCR, but your old decoders don't support it, read the extraview installation guide here

ahh check , U can only split SatCR to two HDpvrs

Take it back, get a dual lnb and a quad multiswitcher, plus the cable

I'm sure you will need a quad LNB. That Vivid decoder uses some frequencies that sit on vertical/high. A dual LNB will work, but there will be conflicts.

Hehe I checked its fine the vivid use's the same range as the dstv decoder, for some reason the vivid decoder has more settings then the new DSTV decoders :erm:

It's not fine... Trust me.

DStv uses the low band only, so VL and HL. This means a twin feed is fine. With Vivid, some channels are on the high band (VH), so you now have a third polarity. You will have clashes, if you only have 2 feeds from the dish.

Ok maybe I am wrong here

The only reason why there is a vivid decoder in the house is, grand ma likes her 7delaan. She only uses sabc 2( dont need the other channles

OK before all this smarty me went and split the normal lnb in 2, so that the dstv decoder had the same lnb feed as the vivid, and well seems the vivid sabc2 work fine with the dstv till u change a channel that is not on the seem Polarization as the vivid ,ect sabc 2 is vertical and if i change my channel on the dstv decoder to any horizontal channel it dies on the vivid but when i change back it worked fine

Maybe i should have given this information before hand

your right about that vivid wont work but those channels I am not going to need :D
