Help with Setting up a Blackberry Enteprise Server.

Hi

Please i Need Help with setting up a Blackberry server on the same server as my Exchange server 2010,With the username BESadmin, but the thing is iam stuck at the second step, in the Microsoft Exchange manager Shell where the Command:

"Get-MailboxDatabase :ADPermission -User "BESadmin" -AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights Receive-As,ms Exch-Store-Admin

Is typed in gives me an error that says:
Invalid argument '-User'
Invalid Argument:<:> [Get-MailboxDatabase ] ParametersBindingException????????????????????

Help Please!!!!

Not sure why you are having issues though, i followed the installation guide and it was pretty straightforward.

possibly underlying exchange issues? Unfortunately, i aint no mail guy

Yap i used the Blackberry Training Video aswell, but no LUCK, Maybe someone had the same problem..HOPEFULLY that could guide me.. Thanks tau1z

Are you activating cals? Like assigning users to the server?

Yes i do assign users

You need to use the pipe command not a colon after Get-Mailbox Database:

Get-MailboxDatabase | Add-ADPermission -User "BesAdmin" -AccessRights
ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights Receive-As, ms-Exch-Store-Admin


I followed this manual and it worked perfectly:

Its best to install the BES on a different server to your Exchange

Oh, and i always advise this,
Dont connect personal blackberries to the server.
The IT policy does not get removed easily, and users who have private phones would likely get pretty upset with you for it.
You can assign a blank policy, but its still a policy on the phone nevertheless
