Hi everyone,

I am in sort of a pickle right now. I am trying to help a friend set up her ADSL (in Beijing, China) which I believe requires PPPoE because there was a username/password. I have moved out now, but I used to use the same connection and set-up was fairly simple because I had a Windows XP computer.

Her computer is now using Windows 2000. I've done extensive searching through google and I'm still a bit confused. Is there any way that she can set up her PPPoE connection without installing any extra drivers? If so, I would be so grateful if you could give me detailed instructions.

It would be a bit of a problem if she had to download other software (I've read that some people use RasPPPoE) so she could connect to the internet.

The problem is, I don't have a computer that uses 2000 so I can't play around to see if I can get it to work.

Please reply if you have ANY insight. It is GREATLY appreciated :)

Windows 2000 does not come with PPPoE software, only Windows Xp. you have to get the software on the pc, one way or another.. sad but true.

btw does she have a router or modem? if its a router you can attempt to set up the router to make the connection.
