Im almost sure im not asking this question at the rite place so sorry bout that.

I recently bought a whole bunch of e52 for my company. Now im having trouble getting my apn sim's to access the internet/my apn on them. Now on the samsung that i used before these all i had to do was change the access point name in the settings, with the nokia its a bit more complicated i changed the apn and all settings that i could think of but i keep getting either "packet data connection not available" or "connection not available".

Now th samsung's setting were very straight forward an simple un like that of the nokia so i must need some additional information! My APN is with vodacom but managed by Mweb. I would really appreciate it if someone could help or just point me in the rite direction.

Thank you in advance!

What's that APN? AFAIK I know of two
- internet
- vlive
Vodacom. If you do not use these, I believe you can't send nor receive packet data.

Did you change the APN information here? Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access Points -> press Options, New access point. Now you can just give the connection a unique name, select Packet data as the Data bearer and enter the correct APN.

check Settings -> connectivity -> Destinations (if it's the same) otherwise find the destinations in the settings somewhere then add a new access point. Enter in the appropriate settings
Remember when accessing the internet to choose the right access point (use the options button at the bottom if it's not showing the right access point).

Also, if you guys have a spare, can I have one? :D Always wanted one of those phones, just so damn ideal (love bar formats). Great hardware on the thing as well. Meant to buy myself one but postgrad student life demands higher priorities (such as studies :p).

The approach I'd try is to use the voda menu (*111# I think) to set up normal internet & then mod the settings to whatever this mweb apn business is.

@Khanya: Pretty sure theres another one. The standard one blocks incoming connections NAT style, so there is usually an open APN too. Pretty sure voda/mtn both have one.

That you all for you input! I spoke to someone from nokia and apparently i need to do i firmware upgrade, now i take it that its not the same thing as updating the software on the phone so does anyone know how i can go about doing this?
