Hi guys,

I need some help installing the simfy app on Ubuntu 16.04. Tried using wine, but not having any success. It starts up but just hangs on the start-up screen. I know that you can run the service in browser, but would really prefer the app.

Been running ubuntu for a couple of months now, just as a basic desktop. Not an in depth user of the os, but not totally inept.

Any advice welcome

Tried that a few times, downloads but doesnt install. Tried gdebi and failed. thanks though.

anybody with more experience in wine, the linux kind, not the after work type, that could possibly help?

Using what commands?

Tried...

sudo dpkg -i /path/to/deb/file

then

sudo apt-get install -f

?

Did you try:
https://www.simfy.co.za/player/install/linux
?

You'll get simfy_player.zip containing simfy_1.6.2.deb and simfy_1.6.2.rpm.

The download has been removed... :-(

I installed the window version on Ubuntu 17.04 with wine, it works, but the audio stop every 30 second (or so) for a second or two as if it's buffering, but the buffer actually shows it's fully buffered.

I more experience or knowledge here?
