Help with spreadsheet linking

Hi there, I have a problem with openoffice calc.
Firstly I created a stock list. (with prices we pay for the products)
Then I created product recipes, that are linked to the stock list spreadsheet.
Then I created a selling price list.

Now, when I change prices it the stock list, I save it
Then I open the recipe list, and update all the links, that works perfect.
The I open the selling price list, update the links, but the selling prices do not change.

I cant understand it, I even checked the links, every thing is perfect.

Can someone pls explain this? I started a thread in openoffice forum too, but just in case I do not get an answer there, maybe someone here?

I had a similar problem and then found out I was doing absolute paths - the source spreadsheet was in a different directory (old one). Had to change the paths to be relative to the working directory and problem solved.

If you have to do absolute paths, then work from a directory like c:\spreadsheet and not your home directory.

edit: if this is openoffice then it uses absolute paths (discovered this a few months back when merging 12 spreadsheets into one). Also the new openoffice is known to take a very long time with linking as it reopens the spreadsheet for each import!!!!!!!! I have one spreadsheet that takes 45 minutes to update due to this issue.
