hey guys, I hope someone can shed some light on this and help us out.
we have just received windows 8 on our pc's with Outlook 2013 loaded but it has no outlook only
the "Mail app". how on earth do we get our telkom email setup on this.
we fill in all the information we had on the older windows 7/outlook pc's but nothing?
Cheers

The Windows 8 Mail App does not support POP connections, but rather IMAP or EAS (?), so you might need to change some settings to use Telkom Mail. Unfortunately I do not know what the IMAP settings for Telkom would be, if they differ from the POP3 settings.

Cheers,
Brett

i think its outlook. its the blue block with "mail" on it.

@BrettR, the POP settings for telkom are just POP3.telkomsa.net and same for SMTP. do you think i could change it to IMAP?

Lots of vague info at best: How did you "recieve W8 on your PC's"? Is this at a corporate? Where is your IT department?

sorry its vague.

its a new pc from the folks from Matrix. so no corporate or it department

The blue block is not Outlook but the IMAP email as someone already said. You cannot use it to connect to a POP account. If outlook is installed, then you will find it by going to the desktop and running the yellow outlook icon. But unfortunately the emai from outlook does not show on the blue block. Only gmail or other IMAP emails.

Well, it depends what he means by "blue block". Office 2013's Outlook "icon" is a blue block with a white envelope in it.
