Right her be the issue, after the "only one login" thing...

after bitching at telkom, my daddy :) got a guy in and he came and changed the Router settings..(i was away when this happened, and so did not explain to daddy :) about Multi' logins on one account)

we ahve 4 pc's on one 4 port router.... now at the moment, magically, all three can go on-line again ... except mine

what seems to happen, is that apon starting up th PC, it is automatically 'pluged' into the net, although there is no connection icon of any sort , anywhere to be found.. and no longer does one have to click ,"connect" (and it is not that it is just auto detect, the icon and all have gone, so there is NO SIGN what so ever that you are connected to the i-net)

How can i set mine up to do this ...wtf  ?

ALSO: the other pcs use explorer ect, i am set up with Firefox and thunderbird

Tx in advance

and the daddy thing is a running joke .

sounds like your router has been configured to connect on your behalf.
Just set your default gateway to the router's ip address and you should be able to get onto the internet fine.
You may also want to get your IP Address from the router as well, as it's probablee now a DHCP server as well.

If you right-click on your Local Area Connection and go to Properties, there's a little checkbox that allows for an icon notification when you're connected. Damn, I'm getting pretty good with this Winblows stuff!
