Plain and simple.
I cant see any SGS servers in any games.
for example..COD4,BF2 and CSS.
But i can see the IS servers.

It could be a local prob because a friend in another part of my town has the same problem,i live in Pietermaritzburg.

I will appreciate any insight given.
Thx a mil!

Can you ping the ip addresses of the servers? Can you trace to them?

eg in windows

start>run>cmd
ping 196.4.79.78

then

tracert 196.4.79.78

post ur results and describe your comp set up, isp etc etc

So as far as i can see its saying i cant get in touch with the servers.
But im no expert. My isp is telkom itself and im using ADSL

thanx

My ISP is telkom.
Im currently using one of the "Do broadband" setups.

Hi Wazy, actualy, I gave you bad advice as I get the same so I presume the routers on Telkoms side dont allow the packets for pings and traceroutes through all their routers.
Gonna need more info. When you say u cant see the servers what are you using to 'see' the IS ones?
Can you connect directly by typing the ip addresses of servers on this page
http://games.saix.net/servers_full.php
directly into the console/connect window?
Odd that it works for IS and not Telkom and telkom are your ISP...

hi again

I use the in game favourites page to Add servers and connect to them.
I can see and connect to the IS ones when i add them but when i try to add the ip add of the SGS ones nothing comes up.
I have tried X-fire and hlsw...same problem.

In BF2, if you do a update server list and in the server name box you put
-=
(minus, equals)
You still dont see and SGS servers in the list?
If you do then highlight and click 'add to favourites'
stranger and stranger...

Well im gonna be an utter noob and ask if your game is patched to 1.4 or something.but if you can connect to the is servers then i suppose so.ish man Ish mugI

You were an utter noob and posted twice :p :D {Edit: ah I see she is fixed}

I have seen a few times that I can't find SGS servers. Then I just go to SGS website and check the IP's for the game and use those.

For BF2 that could be a bit of a bugger though.

Another noob suggestion frm me...play around with your filters maybe? {no hang on that wont work either coz you have it in more than one game}

Something is up with your router then buddy

All SGS TF2 Servers are currently offline possible due to last night's update. I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear anything else. Some TF2 IS servers also affected.

Also check your filter settings in COD4...the favourites always dissapear when their is a new patch..Make sure you show full servers and empty servers. The SGS servers are 90% full these days due to teh holidays......it should be changing soon, maybe...

I normally make no filters active, or have no restrictions by filter type....

Try refreshing the list of internet servers....and waitin until it has finished saying "Looking for servers" or something to that effect....It takes ages as their are lots of them

hi

Im more worried about COD4 at the moment.sigh

I have tried the filter settings as i can see the IS servers.
My game is 1.4 patched, thats why i have been playing the IS servers.
When i first turn my router on in the day or when i reset it i can see and join the SGS servers but then after a few minutes i lose connection and then i cant join them again or see them again for that matter.it just shows the IP address but nothing responding.(no server name or ping etc..)

sigh.. :(

Take a shot in the dark right and get another 1 gig isp and try it out, see if it makes a Difference, but hey im noob here so thats what i would try.

Maybe telkom giving you grief.

I also seem to be having the same problem with SGS server's they show up in X-fire but not in steam....

Hi Wazy, did you try my last suggestion?
Can you actualy see the webpage games.saix.net and www.telkomsa.net? Do you have any other strange behaviour (Internet related not personal)
It does seem like some routing issue as you can or have seen the IS servers and connected? and bizarre as your connection is via Telkom (but I guess you know that already)

Hi tommy

Yes i can see both websites and access them and no i dont have any other problems.
Ye i know its bizarre reason being that telkom is SAIX based.
This is wierd i think i might just have to change my ISP.
