Since Wednesday this week I have had just about zero connectivity, local and international. It took forever to post this. Logged a fault report yesterday with our superior service provider.

Note that I will DEMAND a refund for this, week as well as last week, when the same thing happened.

The interesting fact is that when I spoke to my ISP yesterday, there was NOTHING posted on SAIX about a network failure in Hennops park. I believe my ISP uses SAIX.

Anybody know if anything has been posted about this??

Much appreciated.

I’m in Eldoraigne, Centurion and since Wednesday my ADSL is VERY slow with frequent disconnects. I tried to phone Telkom but they’re useless as always. If it’s still the same tomorrow I will try to contact Telkom again.

Centurion Network Failure

I saw a post on hellopeter.com that someone was complaining of slow speeds earlier in the week from Rooihuiskraal.

I will follow his example and post on hellopeter.com because this sucks.

Again, I ask, if one of the experts/masters who have the "connections" can confirm if any of the backbone suppliers have declared an issue in Centurion.

Telkom have confirmed to me on three occasions that there is a problem at Hennops Park but why do they apparently not want to acknowledge this??

Up Again

Up and running again. Why do they let the site be down until "planned maintenance" is completed. Why dont they fix the problem when it happens instead of waiting three days??

Guess that is one of the great mysteries of life.

Down Again

Guys/gals, I will not post again on this subject. After having been over the moon on Sunday after Hennops Park was fixed, 300kb/s for int'l speed tests, unfortunately I am back to r*ts sh*t for international connectivity on Monday and Tuesday, a mere and paultry 50kb/s for most international sites.

Like I posted on hellopeter, I will just add up the days of little or no connectivity and just maybe with the refund I can go to Mauritius on holiday at this rate.

This is the third time in three weeks.

Sigh...........

Hi,

ADSL failure on Eldoraigne exchange - down from 22:14 to 22:44 (Wednesday Feb 28). Entire exchange was down as all my friends on the same exchange experienced downtime in the same time interval.

Does anyone have any news on this? I am in Rooihuiskraal North and my ADSL has been down since Wednesday 28 Feb at 22:00. I have logged a call woth Telkom and they just tell me that there are 'problems in that area'. It's now four days later an no-one at Telkom can tell me how long the problem will take to fix. I know it's a line problem because I have tried two different ADSL modems with two different ISP accounts and the exact same behavious is displayed (Initialize LCP and nothing else happens).

Is anyone else from the same area online?

I'm in Lyttelton.

Since last week ADSL was getting more and more irregular.

Over the weekend, it degraded to the point that it is impossible to download email from a USA server.

The funny thing is that the webmail interface from that server is lightning fast - on the same ADSL line.

Currently I'm lucky to be able to read MyADSL.

IOL.co.za is dead, but www.news24.com is fast.

Anybody else with similar experiences?

And yes, Telkom tells me it must be my setup - and they will charge me megabucks to fix it.

well, a week later and niks, nada, zip, zilch. No ADSL, no surfing, no working for home, no news from Telkom, no use phoning them to escalate (in fact, this may have been counter-productive). I'm now slightly miffed - if Telkom HQ happens to burn down, SAP can come knock on my door :p
