Seems IS is playing up.. a call to their call centre confirms that something is wrong but they cant confirm it or give me further information..

Anybody else having any problems ??

If youre talking about international speed, i get the same prob....( kzn )
 
Nope... Local.. on my ISDSL 1mb uncapped in the last hour ive maxed out at whopping dl 80 kbits/sec ul even better at 12 kbits/sec......
 
Me too

Am new to ADSL, my ISP account is an IS based one, and had a few minutes of things going fine, but then.... nothing really happened. I was DL a file at 0.6kbps!!!

This is a pain, and guess it is IS then.
 
Make the switch to SAIX provided bandwidth. I know it's Telkom and all but at least it works more often.
 
Same problem on and off the whole day here in Randburg JHB with my IS account - local and int - just restarted the router to get this posted - I guess it'll sort itself out sometime... bloody frustrating though!
 
...just went to my ISP website and pulled this server update:

"IS smtp server latency

IS are having problems with their SMTP.ISDSL.NET server at the moment.
They are working to resolve it ASAP. IS adsl users will be affected."

Thx mate....At least now we know whats happening....
 
That would mean only outgoing mail should be affected. It has nothing to do with http. Everything is fine here though, newsgroups going at top speed
 
Im kreeping here at KZN.........reminds me of tortoise vs hare...**** i wish we could get some opposition :(
 
this is rather annoying.

at any given time, some one some where will be experiencing an ADSL problem.

the last month there have probably been over 100 threads like this.

we need a seperate sub-forums for these threads..

me internet, she is brokkkeeennn!!! sigh
on IS.... until about 4pm this afternoon all was well....came home 2 hours later...and KABOOM!!!!!!! nuthing has changed since then....

speeds are indifferent....up ..then down..then nuthing.....

I just rebooted my router and it seems to connect OK to local and international now - for how long, I don't know... :D
