A brilliant thriller that touches on the absurdity of religion.

It's not a religious movie but one that makes you think about what religion is: a method of control over people.

It had me spellbound from start to finish.

Watched it a while ago. It was good but did not blow me away or have me on the edge of my seat.

Hugh Grant was amazing in this…but the problem with that is that the other two characters were cringeworthy in contrast.

It didn’t help that their characters were also meant to be pathetic.

And the wig on the one was just terrible, I could not unsee it throughout the whole movie.

The moment Grants character stabs the girl I liked the movie less. I though we'd either get him waging a psychological war that eventually breaks them or there's a genuine spiritual / otherworldly force at play but the latter part of the movie didn't do it for me.

I actually really enjoyed the fact that it didn’t go supernatural.

He took a very basic story and turned it into something pretty complex. Its hard to imagine anyone else in that role.

I enjoyed it, was also not blown away, it's a good slow movie. The first half of the movie was brilliant, but the second part..not that much. Hugh was pretty good in the role though.
