Hernia Op

My Dad went in for a Hernia Op this morning.

Still in theater at the moment, does anyone know if they keep them overnight in hospital?

Inguinal hernia? If so probably yes. I had mine repaired years ago and was in hospital for a couple of days, then had to stay on my back for a few days after that. Things may have changed since and it was also whilst I was in the army.

Not sure which type, the old man keeps tight lipped and is stubborn to let anyone know, he thinks he is going back to work on Friday.

my mom had 2 done, she hates hospitals, but was in overnight - took her a while to recover though, both ops failed

I had to stay 2 nights after mine. Until I could walk to the loo by myself the surgeon would not let me go home
