Hetzner increases hosting data usage allowances

As Librarian said in the R1 thread.

Another shake-up in the market is coming...

Seems that there is a big surprise for all of us in the next few weeks in terms of broadband. All the ISP's must be in on it.

On all their hosting packages?

It looks like it. All there hosting packages have unlimited bandwidth and the entry one start at R19pm.
I dont see a restriction on HDD space as well. So the Hetzner option.... nope

Mmm...... I see I'm still only getting 20GB on my Managed Plus Package where the TruServ Plus gets 50GB :-/ I currently use +/- 50GB a month so costing around R3000 every month.

Maybe it's time to look at someone else for hosting.

You mean you get 50GB storage, or a 50GB quota?

Cybersmart offers 100GB storage and 250GB download quota (25GB upload) on their Green Reseller Package for R349 p/m.

I'm currently using their FREE Pink hosting package where I get 100MB storage with 500MB download/upload quota. Once my forum has grown enough, I'll start using Google Adsense and other banner advertising, to cover the costs for the R99 Platinum hosting package which gives me 2GB storage, and a 10GB download/upload quota.

Really, Cybersmart rocks!

The server has a 1TB drive and I do 50GB traffic (well my clients do 50GB)

I have mailed Hetzner to find out if they will be making any changes to the managed server packages, when I first started using Hetzner a couple of years back they were the cheapest in the market but that seems to have changed a tad :s

Sigh..... got a reply from Hetzner and they have increased quota's for shared hosting now and their TruServ hosting packages in Feb but the managed servers will remain unchanged

Not thrilled with Hetzner

Hi.

While Hetzner are reducing pricing on certain services, they are not flexible at all when it comes to co-location in their CT data center. They will not even entertain allowing one to add a ISDN interface card to a dedicated server.

As far as flexibility goes, Hetzner gets a thumbs down.
