hi there im new to this site. i was looking all over but couldn't find the topic, so im trying out live with the 1 month trial its going well but i js keep gettin alot of lag on some games. so i wanted to know what is the best dsl service out. is it shaped or unshaped? i am currently using a 4mb:sick: telkom line. they say its 1 meg up to 4 or something and a 3 gig shaped account. so im wondering if moving up to the 4 gig unshaped account will be better. i am trying to figure out which isp will be best for online gaming to both local and international servers before months end, so i can cancel my current account and get better isp so would any1 be nice enough to sugest what i should use? that would be much apreciated. thank you:rolleyes: i don't know if this is allowed on the forum but my live nick is kadmus0 so any1 who is up for a game plz invite.

To mr. Renamed- (I'm sorry for the lack of full stops, i really am but as you can see its round about 1 to 2 in the morning and i have just joined this site. I did not join to receive sarcasm, i joined to receive help since reading other posts, i found this site to be very helpfull i do not mean to trash talk you or something but if you wanted to approach me on my writting, you could have done so without your useless sarcasm.... do that to people you call friends. i will change my post and add all the full stops you offered. thank you i hope it made you happy and your sleeping better.)

i cant help you with xbox live, but i have a whole bag of fullstops going cheap if you are interested? would make a great addition to your writing...

You should try to find local SA players as our wonderful internet is relatively inefficient when dealing with international players. I think the local Xbox site is still www.pgr3.co.za so join up and start adding some local folks to your friends list to get some matches going.

You will really find a good variety of gamers out there that do lots of different online games.
 
lol... Kadmas people find it rude if you don't take the time to write your questions properly. You have a full QWERTY keyboard which includes Shift keys as well ;)

Anyway on to your question.

If you are playing against international people you will lag. It's purely a distance thing and it will never change. A shaped account internationally is virtually impossible to play with. However an unshaped account internationally will lag but still be playable.

Local traffic is not shaped so if you are playing against local guys only then shaped is fine.

I always recommend Web Africa (www.webafrica.co.za) as an ISP, I use them and have absolutely no lag on my 384 when playing locally.

There are enough local guys to always get a game. head on over to www.xbox-360.co.za/forum to find more local guys.
 
Thank you for your help, It's much appreciated, once again im sorry for the way i typed my question, it was 1 in the morning so i didnt really pay attention i had no intention of being rude. And it's written kadmus LOL hehe i will look into it and i will probably follow your sugestion. I just don't like it whe people are rude for o reason, that is what stops other people from asking for help. Good day
 
Well, coming in a bit late . . .

Kadmus - Gavin's prety much summed it up. I'd advise you have a look the the 360 gamertag thread here on the forum and add some local friends, and get into local games, they're the best.
 
I might get a gold acc. for Halo3, so I can get pwned by the rest of you pros.
