They have fantastic coaches all through their systems.

Why would Hansen not want Meyer to continue when he knows how to beat him?

Probably because he is one of the best coaches out there. Knowing only someone with Meyers knowledge, wisdom and extraordinary vision can take the All Blacks to their 3rd world cup.

Is he a better coach than Meyer? Who know but they both play the same 10-man game.

Gio Aplon wasted his career at the Stormers. Being on the wing, he hardly touched the ball.

This is exactly what i have been saying the whole time. Coetzee is not a bad coach, but he plays the same game as Meyer, Meyer just plays it better.

South African Rugby Union president Oregan Hoskins has denied reports that Allister Coetzee has already been appointed to succeed Heyneke Meyer as Springbok coach.

Meyer announced on Thursday that he would not be re-applying for his job at the start of the next four year cycle. That followed a week of speculation that Coetzee had been approached in Japan by Saru officials and asked if he would return to South Africa to coach the team he served as an assistant coach during the Jake White era.

“Coming into Cape Town I saw the newspaper billboards and I was surprised because you guys obviously know something that I don’t know,” said Hoskins gesturing to the reporters attending a media conference at Saru headquarters in Plattekloof just outside Cape Town.

“I don’t believe we should be hasty in appointing a new coach. It is something we need to take our time over and give some thought to. I don’t think that we will rush it so you can’t expect an announcement soon. I can tell you that Allister Coetzee hasn’t been appointed.”

All the indications are that Coetzee has in fact been approached and if he hasn’t signed, he intends doing so. Nonetheless, considering the xenophobia that has driven the Saru decision making process in coaching appointments at Bok level in the past, it was refreshing to hear Hoskins say that any application process would be open to foreign coaches.

Indeed, he appeared to encourage that line of thinking, which might confirm well sourced rumours that Wayne Smith, the long serving All Black assistant coach, had come up in discussions at the highest level at Saru.

“A foreign coach is definitely an option,” said Hoskins.

“I think it is accepted global practice now for nations to appoint foreign coaches when they feel it is necessary and a foreign coach is the best man for the job. Of the 20 teams at the World Cup, 13 of them had foreign coaches. So it would be silly to rule out the possibility of contracting a foreign coach. It would be silly to say no to it.”

I often wondered what another 4 years of HM at the helm of the Boks would do. Considering he had the same "road" at the Bulls, they lost a couple of games (well they were bad for a couple of years), then they got it going right.

Obviously if HM was appointed in 2008, this would look much different now.

This is different. 50% non-white players by 2019 is just taking the piss with us loyal supporters.

That's already in place for 2019 - each year the quotas will increase, until 2019 where it will be a required minimum of 50%.

I'll never be able to support another team as my own though, but many people I know already do, and I can understand it.

I am a huge springbok supporter, i think we all are, but i will not support this. i was already fuming this world cup when an obvious inform Marcell Coetzee was cut for Siya Kolisi, there is nothing wrong with Kolisi, but there is no way he is or was better than Marcell. And if they are going to drop obvious in form players because they are white, then i'm sorry, i'm finished.

Exactly, and they don't get it. We are forced to pick these mediocre to crappy black players just to have a presence and to keep COSATU and kie happy, then when they are not picked for match day or benched the whole game (because they are actually k@k) then HM and the whole rugby administration is racist and we want them to fail, what a load of horse ****.
If 50% of the team was black, heck if 100% of the team was black and they deserved to be there, i would not complain and i would support them 100%. But picking k@k players just for the sake of it, then expecting us to beat the All Blacks and win the World Cup, its laughable really.
