Hi-def on the PC?

I say take the 2494hs because of the hdmi. You can plug in an xbox via hdmi and you get dvd players that use hdmi too.

42" HDTV is awesome! I have Sinotec. They are on special at Makro for R8999.00

5yr warranty.

Get the salesman to plug in the Bluray player and you will see the quality is the same as the Sonys etc... They might not be allowed to do it- when I got the okie to do that, the manager came racing over and yanked the cable out:mad: Shows the Sinos are as good as Sony @ half the price with double the warranty...

Bit of a no-brainer, really.

What model number do you have? The price on the website is R12 999

24" will be far too small in the long run, unless you are sitting 2 ft from the screen which it doesn't sound like you will be doing.

32" or bigger, and you can get Sinotec's for cheap and I promise you at 1m plus a 32" 720p LCD tv will look far better than a 24" 1080P LCD.

I'm pretty clear about what I want to be doing here. We don't watch a whole lot of tv and I don't have 8k to spend on a 32" lcd - plus my pc is primarily for my work, so I actually don't want too big of a screen.

Well it's 23.6" vs 23" and 5ms vs 2ms. I would go for the 2ms P2350

Dude, this argument has held no water since many years ago. Up until 8ms the human eye notices no difference and ghosting only starts at 25ms. Research before you post dribble!

Eh ... The spec sheets state 5ms and the other states 2ms If you dont believe the figures take it up with Samsung, seen as you are so bright

No where did I mention temporal sensitivity did I *********

Oh, for goodness' sake, I meant research the fact that it does not matter. I know that it is 2ms and 5ms, but it does not matter in the slightest. In fact, it means less than that. Your brain probably doesn't operate for longer than a second so divide that by 200 and you get the response time of the 2494HS. That's a very small number! How in heck's name will 3ms make a visible difference?!

Both monitors operate at a refresh rate of 60HZ, 1000ms/60 = 16.67ms

5ms response time is 30% of the frame display period
2ms reponse time is 12% of the frame display period

Those 2ms & 5ms times are ideal response times, @ 5ms the incorrect level (colour) could be displayed for 30% of the time in a frame that is changing (high framerate video signal with motion ie games).

3ms is NOT insignificant.

I was in the mall this weekend checking out my future purchase (I know...but we have to plan our money carefully these days, will def be this month though). And I noticed that the P2350 has a glossy screen whereas 2494hs has matte. To my eyes the glossy looked a whole lot sharper than the matte, but worried about reflections. Thoughts?

I bought myself the 2494HS a while back and it should say its a piece of work! The picture is amazing and the two little built in speakers really add to the surround sound. Use it for anything from 12h movie nights to games galore, looks awesome in any situation. Tip : Combine it with Windows 7 and DX10 and ull be amazed.

hey guys, if this monitor supports Full HD, will a decent graphics card (8800gt) push 1080p and at 23" will you see Full HD in its entirety?

23" is far too small for tv and video I think. I have to sit quite close to the moniter to watch anything as compared to my 74 cm tv. The odd widescreen and HD movie is fine not everything.

However, try anything below the native 1920X1080, and away goes the glory! Even 1650X1080 really looks shocking (that is on the 23" FULL HD monitor) So definitely get a card that handles 1920X1080 . On 1920X1080 it does look really amazing though so it kind of cancels out the other problems...
