Hi Guys

well duh - might as well throw in some torrent downloads as well, plenty b/w to use up ;p
2 ppl on a 384 line doesnt work so well... tested...
but if its only one person its fine...

And although 4mb is fast download - upload is equaly important in wow - sooo your looking at max 384 upload on a 4mb line...

My GF and I played fine on 384
Havent raided together thou

Latency

Dont u guys get so PO that we have to have internet under these conditions? Isnt there anything at all we can do?

yeah its ok if your not doing anything to intensive - i have farmed with a buddy on the same line - but for raiding and dungeons i wont take the chance...

My brother and I run heroics together on the same 384kb line, no problem.

move to Europe?

Wonder how telkom etc can imporove latency? the problem is clearly on the South African side, as we calculated several months back there is no reason why latency should be above 150ms
It takes longer for me to ping my isp than 150ms, so the lines must be totaly screwed up.

But tbh I am happy if the latency can just be stable around 450ms...

lol - stable at 450!! ill be over the blimming moon..
that will be a HUGE improvement to the current state of affairs..
I think the only thing we can do is wait for the new fiber lines to be laid down around africa... that should definately improve things...

Good idea move to UK BT give unlimited downloading no caps and crap like here my pc was always on limewire downloading non stop.

Dont get your hopes up to high about those fibres :(
Like I said the pings within the country is already bad, the infrastructure just can't handle all the load perhaps... i.e. why do we still have bad networking during peak hours...

But same as you, I hope the new lines will bring a difference. I cant complain to much though as I have 450-550ms pings.

well our current network is the current telkom network which we know is overloaded... Weve got players laying fiber and just waiting to setup their own routing. Neotel has stated that they are working towards a completely Telkom Free network - which in itself will be great!!
