Hi8 and Mini DV video tapes

Hey guys I have a few old tapes that I want to convert digitally,
Would prefer buying a device.

What would you recommend for this ?
There must be something out there that you could put the tapes into and then connect to the PC / Laptop

Any advice?

Hi8 is analogue o you gonna need a player as well as a capture device.
MiniDV is digital so you can potentially take the digital source directly from the player. I've got a camcorder somewhere in a box that has a firewire port you can hookup to a pc with firewire.

I have a bag of these tapes. Camera was stolen so never watched most of the tapes.
