Hiding IP

I used Express VPN, and now Nord, signed a 36 month once off payment, work great.

I like Express more, atleast you know in which city you break out in, with Nord it is just a long list of numbers to choose from.

When going the VPN route just make sure that the external IP you get via VPN does not open you to the world.
Friend of mine is using a VPN service as he heard it will make him more "secure" etc
So he uses a QNAP server to dial the connection... suddenly his QNAP logs fill up with login attempts to the VPN public IP... (which one can ping over the internet)
Dialed from his pc the same happens.... so he's like how can that be a VPN is supposed to hide you and make your network secure...

Not sure where he got that from... using a VPN does not do crap if your firewalls are not configured correctly
